Organize PDF pages

One workspace instead of five round trips

Page work is rarely one operation. A scanned report needs the blank backs removed, two sideways pages turned, an appendix from a second file added at the end, and the whole thing two-up for printing. Tool by tool, that's four downloads and four re-uploads, each one producing another file in your downloads folder with a slightly worse name than the last.

Here the arrangement is one list. Add files to it, edit it however you like, then decide at the end whether it becomes a single PDF, a set of PDFs, or a print layout. Nothing is written until you ask for it, and nothing leaves the tab at any point.

What you can do to the pages

• Reorder by dragging, or with the keyboard: focus a page, press Space to grab it, move it with the arrow keys.
• Rotate one page, the selected pages, or all of them.
• Delete single pages, or select several and remove them together, or invert the selection and keep only what you picked.
• Duplicate a page, for a form that needs a second copy of one sheet.
• Insert a blank page, sized to match its neighbour and useful when a double-sided print needs a chapter to start on a right-hand page.
• Reverse the whole order, for a scanner that fed the stack backwards.

Choosing the output

One PDF is the plain case: the pages exactly as arranged. Several PDFs cuts the arrangement into files (every N pages, a number of equal parts, or at the pages you select) and bundles them into a ZIP. Pages per sheet tiles 2 to 16 pages onto each printed sheet, with optional cutting guides. Folded booklet reorders the pages into saddle-stitch spreads so that printing double-sided, folding down the middle and stapling the spine gives you a booklet that reads in order.
