1. What the service is

Sleek PDF provides tools that read and write PDF files. They run as code inside your own web browser, on your own device. The site is a static one: it serves pages and program code, and it does not receive, process, or store the documents you open with those tools. There is no account to create and no fee to pay.

2. Your files stay yours

We claim no rights over any document you open, create, or modify using these tools, because we never come into possession of one. Nothing you process is transmitted to us. There is correspondingly no file for us to store, share, lose, or hand to anyone else, and no deletion request to make. The privacy page explains how to verify this in your browser rather than take it on trust.

3. Acceptable use

You agree not to use Sleek PDF to:

• Break the law, including infringing copyright or processing documents you have no right to possess.
• Alter documents in order to deceive: forging signatures, falsifying records, or removing markings you are required to keep. Several tools here can edit, redact, or flatten a document; doing so honestly is your responsibility, not something the tool can check.
• Circumvent access controls on a document you are not authorised to open. The password tools exist for documents whose passwords you hold.
• Attack the site or its users, including attempts to disrupt the service or to inject code into pages other people load.

4. No warranty

The tools are provided "as is", without warranty of any kind. PDF is a large and inconsistently implemented format, and a file produced by an unusual program can be handled in a way we did not anticipate. We test against a wide range of documents, but we cannot promise that every output will be correct for every input.

Keep your originals. Every tool writes a new file rather than modifying the one you gave it, so your source document is untouched on your disk. But check the result before you rely on it, particularly for anything legal, financial, or archival. Some operations are described on their pages as lossy or destructive; read those descriptions before relying on the output.

5. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Downbeat Interactive is not liable for any loss or damage arising from use of this site, including lost or corrupted documents, lost profits, or consequential loss. The service is free and holds none of your data, so there is nothing on our side that could be lost in the first place.

6. Advertising and third parties

The site is funded by advertising, served by Google AdSense in fixed slots outside the tools. Advertisements come from Google and its partners; we do not select individual ads and do not endorse what they promote. Clicking one takes you to a third-party site governed by its own terms. 7. Intellectual property

The site's design, text, and code are the property of Downbeat Interactive, except where stated. The tools are built on open-source components that remain under their own licences. You are welcome to link to any page here, quote from the guides with attribution, and use the tools for commercial work at no cost.

8. Availability and changes

We may change, add, or withdraw tools, and may update these terms; the date at the top shows when they last changed. Because the tools run in your browser, a page you have already loaded keeps working even if the site is down, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted availability.
